@lewiscawte I'm more concerned about EditAccount, which poses stronger risks.
Yes, there are security and/or privacy issues. The applicable part here being "privacy issues". Which is why only staff can use these tools to enable us to do our jobs. We take privacy seriously, and these tools are not used unless it is necessary. LookupUser was originally written by one of the key MediaWiki developers, who is currently employed by the Wikimedia Foundation, so will have been written with security and privacy concerns in mind.
Ad blockers should not be banned or discouraged in any way. Users should be allowed to block the ads on their personal devices - ShoutWiki doesn't loose any revenue from this.

For me, I think that it should come down to this:

There's a reason a number of extensions in the repository are unused. For Configure it's a case of "works okay for one wiki, not 8800+."

It's most probably all Layer 8. Resolve at your own leisure please. I would delete it, but can't and don't wanna set state to something wrong otherwise :)

And sorry again, I did not see the support-email in the text on the mainpage. And there I could also click on Contact. I don't know, I got a permission denied before, but that depended maybe on the context of the page I was on. So sorry gain, I will try the support email.
To add to the confusion, if I try to use http://www.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Special:PasswordReset with the desired username and the alternative I tried, it tells me there are no such users.
But I still have an issue it seems. I tried to reset via email-address. But with the address I wanted to register I get no answer from the bot. But I don;t understand why I then not are able to register an account with that same address. I tried with two usernames.
I'm very sorry, I somehow missed http://www.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Special:PasswordReset

Pretty much, yeah, although I'm not sure if the patch has been tested on wikis running both extensions. I think the reason I was keeping this open was due to my earlier comment about merging AutomaticBoardWelcome and HAWelcome, but we can create a separate task for that or something.

In T183#2639, @lewiscawte wrote:Thinking about it, we could do with a better 404 and 403 error page.
Error pages are almost wasted talent, as we don't really want people to see them, but alas, sometimes they do, and they shouldn't be terrible.
Since 403 and 404 errors are different, I've split them off to T185.
